On April 4, Heike Paul will open the 35th biennial conference of the European Association of American Studies (EAAS) , which is held at Amerikahaus Munich and Munich's Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen from April 4-6, 2024 and is organized by the Bavarian American Academy. The topic of the conference is "1924-2024: The American Immigrant Narrative Revisited", featuring keynotes by Karen V. Hansen (Brandeis University), Paul Apostolidis (London School of Economics and Political Science), and Carmen Birkle (University of Marburg) and all in all over 160 contributions, looking at the figure of the (im)migrant across time, from different disciplinary angles, and in an intersectional framework.
