A new reference book for melodramas in film, the Lexicon of Glocal Melodrama, edited by Heike Paul, Sarah Marak, Katharina Gerund, and Marius Henderson is out now! It assembles contributions by experts from a wide range of disciplines, including cultural studies, film and media studies, gender and queer studies, political science, and postcolonial studies, covering melodramas ranging from early 20th century silent movies to contemporary films, from independent ›arthouse‹ productions to Hollywood blockbusters. Heike Paul contributed essays on the films “Gone with the Wind" (1939), “Love Story" (1970), “The Piano" (1993), and “The Bridges of Madison County" (1995). The book is published by transcript and is open access.
