On May 4, Heike Paul participated in an open day-event at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BAdW) in Munich to introduce the BAdW-funded project Semantiken des Verzichts - Perspektiven auf die Wohlstandsgesellschaft und ihre Kosten. This project looks at questions of renunciation and "doing without" in all of its semantical variations - from an interdisciplinary and transhistorical perspective. During the open day-event, visitors were asked what it was that they could - or could not - do without.
