Heike Paul talks to Alexandra Ganser (Professor of North American literary and cultural studies at the University of Vienna ) and Stefanie Schäfer (currently a Marie-Curie fellow at the University of Vienna) about their recently published monographs Crisis and Legitimacy in Atlantic American Narratives of Piracy: 1678-1865 (by Alexandra Ganser, Palgrave MacMillan, 2021) and Yankee Yarns: Storytelling and the Invention of the National Body in Nineteenth-Century American Culture (by Stefanie Schäfer, Edinburgh UP, 2021).
