On the occasion of Cornelius Castoriadis' 100th birthday, the contributions in this special issue of the Zeitschrift für Kulturwissenschaften (vol. 2/2022) are dedicated to his analysis of the imaginary constitution of society, in particular his concept of "radical imagination". They show how Castoriadis' thinking allows for an understanding of social self-description against the background of "becoming other" and that different cultures of imagination can be described as transcending the space of the present: other technology, other society, other bodies, other subjects, other futures.
